Friends, family, listeners and those bold enough to be here -
You know when someone says, "I'm living the dream." What's supposed to happen after you've lived it?
The Backstory, Unlocked
Imagine a grainy, discolored photograph coming into sharp, colorful focus - your life, and its end, laid out before you; choices to despair or to dream at every turn. I have done my share of both since my initial cancer diagnosis, and certainly since becoming metastatic in December of 2020. However, the dream of seeing my dear daughter graduate from high school in 2023 has been my north star since 2019; the finish line I needed to keep running toward.
It has never been lost on me that living with metastatic triple negative inflammatory breast cancer for any significant length of time would be a noteworthy gift - a dream in and of itself. There were days when the dream of watching her walk across the stage under a beautiful white tent surrounded by the mountains that raised her felt so possible - and many days when it just…didn’t. On those toughest of days, I allowed the dreaming to become even more vivid; me, more alive than ever before.
Turns out, my biggest dream was, in fact, realized. I saw Harper graduate.
The latest episode of Grand Exit begins there, where dreaming the way I used to do it, ends and finds a new way.
What’s in This Episode?
This episode is our doorway between perceived reality and, actually: a better one! This one, a retrospective, is a heartfelt reminder that dreams don’t just end when they come true — they evolve.
In it, you can expect to:
🟩 Travel with me as I recount the emotional journey of attending Harper’s high school graduation—a dream I once thought impossible.
🟩 Reflect on the evolving nature of aspirations.
🟩 Explore what dreams are made of and how they change over time.
🟩 Awaken something within yourself that connects your highest vision for life to the way you’re living right now.
You can expect end-of-life conversations, ongoingly! Life and legacy planning (and some haha's about that too). Mindful living with purpose. Death positivity by embracing mortality in the big and small decisions and moments of living. And the life-death-legacy continuum on repeat.
With gratitude for NOW,
Tamatha and Chelsea
